GENERAL STATEMENT OF
Responsibilities:
The Academic Coach, reporting to the Dean of Student Retention and Completion, provides academic coaching support to students and assists with proctoring of exams in the O'Neill Center for Student Access and Support. This position is full-time during the Academic Year (9 months - September through May) only.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Provide academic coaching support to students.
Help student identify strengths and challenges.
Assist students in developing studying and learning strategies.
Assist students with setting their academic goals.
Assist in developing student habits and other skills to ensure their success.
Track students' progress toward goals.
Develop individual academic coaching plans for students.
Communicate any student concerns to program coordinator.
Proctor exams and provide information to students.
Assist students in using other academic support services (e.g., computer assisted instruction and other support services as appropriate).
Consult with support staff, instructors, and advisors regarding academic coaching support for individual students.
Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, learning disabilities, or other field related to area of assignment plus three years of experience and/or training involving area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of executive functioning strategies.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of instructional and/or adaptive technology.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED
Qualifications:
College level experience, preferably in a community college, providing academic advising, tutoring, student support services, or related student affairs.
Prior work experience with students with disabilities desirable.
Bilingual.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Full-time 9 month (September - May), MCCC/MTA Unit Position (Grade 4 - Special Programs Coordinator). Anticipated annual salary range of $57,249-$67,505 (to be prorated based on .75 full-time equivalent). Actual salary will be consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program including option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
